Blankies for Isabel

My best friend in the whole world is having her second baby girl.  When I was pregnant with Cait, she was pregnant with Sophia.  I made the girls matching blankies and taggies.  Cait likes her blankets but is not in love with them {much to my dismay).  Sophia on the other hand loves her blankies!!  When I visited Gretch in the spring, we picked out fabric for her newest addition's special lovies.

I mailed the finished products last week and they are washed and tucked away in Isabel's room so now I can share!!

I love the way the lower case "i" looks int he circle!

 It was so fun digging though my large ribbon collection to find the perfect "tags".

The zebra fabric is silky.  So pretty!

The little embroidered tag says "you are loved Isabel".  

Cait got a hold of the blankies and loved them up a bit.

"Can I keep them Mommy?"

"No Cait, let's wrap them up and send them to Sophie's new sister Isabel"

She is getting so fast I can't even capture her in focus!

I have another taggie to finish for one of my closest friends.  I will share it once it has made it to it's new owner:)

Shabby Chic Local Inspiration

I am so proud to share this amazing Shabby Chic wedding with my party readers.

A few summers ago I had the privilege of tagging along on some wedding set ups with the amazingly talented mother/daughter team that makes up Stage Right, Etc.  Dani and Ria blew me away weekly with their creativity.  This Kelowna based wedding planning duo is at the cutting edge of all things pretty, all things floral, all things decor, and all things wedding.

I personally take a lot of inspiration for my parties and cakes from wedding magazines and blogs.  I thought sharing their amazing work is sure to inspire the creativity in all of you.  Not to mention, the photographs taken by Jessics Zais are so incredible, it is definitely worth a few minutes of your time!

Check out this adorable location.  What a gorgeous barn.  SO much character!

Cute frames and sweet plaques with the bride and groom/s initials.  These would be adorable touches to any shabby chic party.

Look closely, they used an antique door for the table top.  Cute, right?  I say genius!

This table is so pretty.  Every detail is looked after.  I think this would be a great theme for a bridal tea as well.

Zebra Print, Lime and Teal Office Party

To celebrate the 4th anniversary of Rhino Chiropractic, I created a fun color scheme and focused on one area of the office.  I took these photos before the food was set out but you can get the ides:)

Spruced up water bottles using the paper scraps left over from the banner.

I was extremely thrilled when I popped into my favorite dollar store (Party @ Buck Or Two +) and discovered that the owner had just taken a balloon course down in Dallas.  She is a balloon bouquet master and she created a fantastic creation for me for a really great price!

Cute little cupcakes with flags!  I love the mini cupcake size for parties.  It is the perfect amount; kids eat the whole thing {not just the icing}, grown ups don't feel guilty taking a second one, and small = cute!

Cute cute cute!  And the fab cupcake papers?  Michaels is carrying tons of great patterns now.  Being in Canada, it is always exciting when we can get great stuff like this without having to get it shipped here.

This party was limited to one wall in the office with one table in front of it.  It was really fun to go all out and make that area amazing.  I find if you try to spread the decor out all over the place, it often gets lost.  This way, the eyes were directed to the party table and there were not tons of unnecessary decorations.

Pioneer Party Inspiration

Okay I have been waiting for a year for this party.  Last Year Rebecca's Abby Cadabby Party was so adorable, I just couldn't wait to see what she would come up with this year!  She did not disappoint.  Pioneer Theme?  Really?  How unique and fun is that???  I love it!

Homemade aprons for the female guests and bandanas for the males.  Love the sweet prints she used and the simple tags!

Wagon Trail rides!  AHH!  SO Sweet!

Look at this sweet little birthday girl with her pretty cake.  The bonnet is so cute!  Did you notice the jug with the candy has a "2" on it?  Love it!

Homemade strawberry jam for favors and CD's with the party music.  Great gifts!

Mailee was looking at the photos with me.  This year in school they did a huge unit of Pioneer life and she loved it.  She is all excited about this party theme for her next birthday.  I must agree, it suits her perfectly and I am so inspired after seeing Rebecca's party.  Go HERE to see more!

Lemonade and Sunshine; Why Didn't I Think of That??

I really love this party that I first saw featured over at Bella Grace.  I mean I found myself daydreaming today about this party that Jess from Paper & Pen Flowers created for her two daughters.

 All of my kids have winter and early spring birthdays so I have never gotten to enjoy the thrill of outside sunny parties but I sure can appreciate this adorable theme.

Look at this table!  It's outside and it is so gorgeous!  I love the soft pink and yellow color palette and the fresh lemon theme is so, well, delicious!!

This is quite possibly the cutest use of tin cans I have ever seen!  She even made use of the lids!  And that old window frame...WOW!  I am in love!

Sweet strips of fabric, jars full of lemons...Old cans and milk bottles...little bouquets of summer flowers...it's too much for me to bear!

Isn't this a great touch yet so simple?  I really wish I had thought of it!

Oh but it does not stop at cute cuppies, here is the cake!  It's pink lemonade flavor!  How amazing is that?  I love the simplicity of this cake.  It's so classy.

These adorable repurposed mason jars are filled with lemon drops.  A little square of cute fabric and some twine and we are talking cute favors.  These are not the only favors though!  You simply MUST hop over to Pen&paper flowers to see the rest.

I am seriously considering celebrating half birthdays around here just so I can have an adorable backyard party like this.  Thanks for the beautiful pictures and awesome inspiration Jess.  You truly outdid yourself.

No Parties {this month}

I am on a party break right now.  I actually do not even have any themes dreamed up for the fall birthdays in my home.  This is a first!  That's okay, I am keeping busy with a lot of little projects.

We bought buckets the other day and I had to make them better. Plain= boring in my book:)

Have I ever told you about Scribbles?  It is one of my favorite stores in Fresno and has been since I was 9.  Seriously, a store where you can pick your item and they will personalize it with the design of your choice?  How fun is that?  Why aren't there more stores like this???  Now that I live in a Scribbles-free town, I just do the decorating myself.  It's not the same but it is fun and the kids love it.

We made cards for the kids' teachers.  This was for my daughter's male teacher who encourages the kids to read by rewarding them with the privilege of launching one of his own rockets from his collection if they read a certain number of books.  My 9 year old had this idea for the card and I thought she did a great job.  I love that the kids are getting big enough to create amazing things!

This new pile of ribbon is beckoning me from my craft shelf.

The warm sunshine is beckoning us from outside.  Such a toss up, crafts or sun.  You may not hear from me a whole lot this summer:)

Holding On...Just One...More...Week

Hi1  I am still here!  I don't know how other moms can juggle all the activities and craziness of life and still have a post on the blog and dinner on the table but 'round these parts something has had to give.  Sometimes it's dinner, usually it's the vaccuming and lately it's the blog.

School ends this Friday and that day just can not come fast enough.  Please be patient, I will be back!!
