When planning a kid's birthday party, we find the best way to choose a theme is to focus on what that child loves best. Some of the best themes begin this way. Thinking outside the "party isle" at WalMart is exciting. Granted, creating a theme from scratch takes more work but it is so rewarding!!

This little lady is a major pet lover. She is obsessed with all things puppy and kitty. We combined her two favorite animals and added some fun colors to create this unique "puppy and kitty" party.
"Woof woof Meow meow Maddie Faith will be 5 now!"
Handmade invitations with a catchy phrase are always a great way to get the invited guests excited!! The birthday girl got to address and "sticker" the envelopes! Fig and Ruby can make invitations for your specific theme and color scheme. Check out the paperie blog here!
Lanterns in the party colors!
We created these adorable bean bags for the kids to use in a few carefully planned games. The children were thrilled to take their bean bags home in their goody bags!
Goody bags in the theme colors make a great decoration! Find an empty space in the party room and put them on display!!

This birthday girl really wanted puppy and kitty makeovers! The kids got to pick a puppy face or kitty face. The also got their hair done in "puppy ears" or "kitty ears" with matching bows (headband with ears for the sweet little boy) Each child got a collar with their name tag attached and a leash. Their parents got to "walk" their kids out at the end of the party!!
