Ballerina Party

For my daughter's 6th birthday, she wanted a ballerina party.

We invited 24 little girls, cleared the living room and hired the dance teacher to come and conduct a ballet class for an hour of the party.

"Stars of the Show" announced who would be dancing at the party with the name and photo of each little girl.

Star shaped wooden name tag pins had different colors and ballet themed designs to designate what group each girl was in. When having a party with 24 kids, it helps to split the kids into groups for some of the activities. At this party, we had 4 stations:

-Hair: ballerina buns

-Craft: ballerina bear wands

-Snack table

-Make Up and Tu Tus: lip gloss, sparkles and blush. for make up. For their outfits, I asked each mom to send their child in a leotard and tights. I made 24 pink tutus. They looks so cute when they were all in head to toe pink!!

The "ball of tu tus" hung on display until we were ready to put them on the girls.

Ballerina bear wands! I painted the bears in advance. The girls glued on the eyes, tu tus, and bow. I like to test the party crafts out on my children before the party to make sure it will not be too hard or complicated and also get an idea for how much time it will take.

The "special guest" arrives to a crowd of sweet, curious little girls.

Hiring a special teacher (ballet, karate, gymnastics)is a great way to entertain the kids without having to conduct the entire party yourself!

Perfectly Pink Baby Shower

Now that my sweet baby has arrived,(read all about her HERE) I am catching up on parties that have not been posted!

This baby shower was practically pink in every way with little touches of celadon green. I love this color scheme!

Fun Poms in all shades of pink to set the mood. I LOVE these poms!!

Incorporating the baby's name through out the shower was so fun!

Onsies hanging on a line- a simple yet adorable way to decorate for a baby shower. This was done by one of the mommy-to-be's friends.

These letters were a decoration and a gift or the baby's nursery.

This baby shower was for my best friend in the whole world. I made her this sweet "s" to go with her nursery theme. It was fun to make and my friend loved it!!

All American Cheer

Living in Canada, two of my favorite things are virtually obsolete; cheer leading and the Stars and Stripes. When my daughter asked for a cheer party for her 7th birthday, I was thrilled and the color scheme for me was easy. I called a few of my American friends and they willingly sent me their old uniforms. I was thrilled to receive enough red white and blue ones to put all the party guests in the theme colors! Here are some of my favorite details...

The overall "feel" was all out red white and blue. With an October birthday, it was no problem to collect 4th of July items at clear out prices. Planning in advance can often save quite a bit.

I removed all the furniture from the living room in order to lead the kids in a little cheer clinic.

The girls were fully engaged when learning cheers. Seven is the perfect age to get creative and actually DO something with the kids!!

My sweet birthday girl (top of the pyramid) got a black eye on the trampoline a few weeks before her party.

With the help of my lovely sister in law Terri, we gave all of the girls cheer make overs complete with high ponytails, star stickers on their faces, and the cheer outfits. I also made a hair bow for each girl with her name on it.



At the end of the party, The girls showcased what they learned by performing for the birthday girl's family.

Even the treats were patriotic! The girls got to build their own mini trifles.

I really enjoyed this party theme, it is up there as one of my favorite parties to date. The kids had a great time and most importantly, the theme suited my little birthday girl perfectly.
